Editorial Policy
Our content standards: accurate math, honest limitations, plain language, and visible corrections.
Purpose
CalcPrimeHQ publishes calculators and educational guides that help people understand everyday financial decisions. Content informs; it does not advise. We explain trade-offs and mechanics without telling anyone what to buy, sell, or sign.
Content standards
- Reproducible numbers. Every worked example is generated from the same engine that powers the live calculators — not typed by hand.
- Visible formulas. Methods appear on each page and centrally in our methodology.
- Honest limitations. Assumptions sections list simplifications explicitly.
- Plain language. Beginner-friendly explanations without jargon walls; technical terms get defined on first use.
- No exaggerated claims. No promises of returns, savings outcomes, or approval odds.
Review and updates
Pages carry a “Last updated” date reflecting substantive review. We revisit high-impact calculators (mortgage, auto, credit cards) quarterly and others at least annually, checking formulas, defaults, and copy against current market context. Minor typographic fixes do not change the date; method changes do, and material ones are noted on the methodology page.
Sourcing
Formulas derive from standard finance practice: amortization mathematics, annuity-due/end conventions, and public lending guidelines such as common DTI thresholds. Where ranges vary by lender or program, pages say so rather than implying precision.
Independence and advertising
Advertising keeps the site free. Advertisers receive no influence over calculator logic, content topics, or editorial framing. Sponsored content, if ever introduced, would be labeled unmistakably. We do not accept payment for rankings, reviews, or link placement.
Corrections
Errors get fixed visibly. Substantive corrections add a dated note describing what changed. Report issues via the contact page; we aim to acknowledge within two business days and correct verified errors promptly.
AI and automation disclosure
Calculations execute in code reviewed by humans. Editorial text is written and reviewed by people accountable for its accuracy. Automated tooling assists formatting only.
